Toyota Hybrid Wins Race

A Toyota Race team ran the Tokachi 24-hour endurance race in Japan and won, the car was a Hybrid Supra with 480 Horsepower. From my experience in racing things are developed in racing and brought to the real world some years later. This means that not too far in the future we may see a performance hybrid car, as of this point they little more than an econobox that doesn't get much better milage than my old ass Volkswagon Jetta. Hard to say if the path of Hybrid is going anywhere being as at this point they are close to worthless, we can hope that in the future someone will develope something that reduces the drain on the earths resources. I find it hard to believe that the friggen the model T ford got 25 MPG and a new passenger car gets the exact same milage, come on its been since 1927 since the thing went out of production and with todays technology we can't get beyond that? Planes have gotten lighter and faster.. same with boats and Motorcycles, yet the passenger car has little to no progression.
